On Tour Oct 2008 Sydney

Well these images are from a while ago now. October 2008 to be precise.

Carly who is our Syd and Melb makeup artist and I were early for a shoot, and obviously bored, so pranced around the Sydney studio. Never let a lady loose amongst so many frills, bobs, bows and feathers. Dangerous...

Also below is one of my favourite SB images to date. A client of ours Claire brought her sweet pup Baxter with her for the shoot. Yes we got some great images of Bax in the shoot with Claire (see Sunny Kissed on the SB website), and here's one after the shoot. He's exhausted. Life's tough Bax!

Marie Antoinette

This was a slice of genius, and I don't mind saying so.

I wanted to create a Marie Antoinette style costume smothered in frills, bows, satin, and swarovski's, but of course you can't purchase that off the rack.

I started with a regular FineLines Plunge bra (see below) and sewed all of the above onto it. I intended it would be worn with an under the bust corset so the base of the FL bra was left without detail, and the results were wonderful in the shoot (I'll upload examples once our client approves the final images).

I then embarked on a hoop skirt again in a French Rev style. This photo was taken on my camera phone so apologies for the terrible quality. It looks simply adorable with the little pasties that I made to match.

Our Lily's Makeup

These are just beautiful – so rich and vibrant, and how about the lovely handwriting that corresponds with each colour. These are 2 of Lily's make-up palettes. I just love the way she organises her make-up! Pure joy.

High-Tea

Let's start at the very beginning, it's a very good place to start...
Well by 'beginning' I mean tea-time.

In this blog you'll find images of my favourite ritual, high-tea. Not only does it taste magnificant, but also looks so delicious.

In image three you'll see my old tea plate. I don't really like it anymore so have a new tea plate with a large glass bell-shaped lid that sits upon it. It's from Portugal and I'm currently so so so in love with it :)

In the last image you'll see my (sadly now deceased) Pearl Cactus. I first saw one at the amazingly inspirational Tiffany Bozic's (www.tiffanybozic.net) house in San Fran in 2007. I searched and searched and searched for the same once I got home but didn't find one until a trip with my bro, sis, nephews and nieces in 2008 in Nimbin. I was so happy to find it. I brought it back home immediately and planted it in my broken teapot, but a few months later she left me :( booooo!

The Birdie Blog Takes Flight

Well Ladies and Gents, it's been a long time coming but I've finally found a spare moment to create the official Sherbet Birdie blog – Goodness it's been a long time coming!

This is where you can find up to date info about our shoots, clients, costumes, latest treasures, and general deliciousness!

I have been collecting images that I have been wanting to upload for a long time, so the first few blog entries are going to be old news, but I guarantee it will still be fun to read and see.

To clients that I've photographed already, I will finally upload those tea-sandwich recipes you've been asking for. And for all our new birdies take your time looking around to gain a sense of what really goes on behind the Sherbet Birdie doors!

Love to all, and thank you for reading
